You, You, You Oughta Know...

So it has been a crazy week...

Last weekend was Lacey's Bachelorette Party!!! It was so much fun! Those girls may possibly be the most fun people ever. First we spent all day at the Joule Poule (pool hehe) and drank way too many girlie drinks.

Then we got all dressed and had a lingere party and then dinner at Victor Tango's... delish! Then Justine and Lacey, in their ever sneaky way, surprised us with a trip to the gayborhood to see a drag show! It was awesome.

More bars and drinks and dancing followed that making for a very late, but fun night! Some delicious mexican breakfast was had in the morning before we all parted ways.

The week that followed was busy, stressful and kinda silly. But... last night, Molley's Trolley and friends played at Houston Street Bar and Patio. It was by far the best thursday night we have had in a long time. Many guest artists were there and there was some serious jams being thrown around. My cover of Alanis Morrisette's You Oughta Know got some good reviews.

All in all a good week so far. I have to go to Augusta, GA for 5 days next week... I will miss my man.

fourth times a charm

So I have a tattoo that is an exact replication of this necklace...

which i have been wearing for about 5 years now. I have lost it and have therefore had to re-buy it 3 times already. I lost it again so purchase number 4 is soon to come. Hopefully I can keep tabs on it this time. Luckily urban outfitters has kept it as a product offering all those years.

I am pretty much interested in any and all jewelry portraying a swallow. So if anyone sees anything lemme know. The swallow tattoo (if you only have one) is meant to represent loyalty to your family and a promise for a safe return home. I can gladly say that it has stayed true to its meaning thus far as I am finally back home in Fort Worth for good.

It feels good to be home. <3

We have finally made it to season four of dexter. It has my favorite villian character ever. Trinity. I can't say too much just in case Chris reads this but his twist at the end tripped up everyone... not one Dexter fan I talked to after the season four finale premiered said they would have ever guessed that ending. Poetic genuis. We have moved through the seasons so fast now that by the time him and I finish season four, it will be a whole nother month before season five.

This weekend was awesome. C'est parfait! Friday we were going to go bowlilng at Splitsville in Arlington but they were booked until midnight. So we went to Dave & Busters instead. I won a huge lollipop. yum. Then on Saturday we went to Joe T's with Lacey, Nick, Krista and Hogan. I hadn't been to Joe T's in so long. It was delicious. Then off to Durty Murphy's for toooooo many guinesses. We ran into one of Chris' best friends Alyssa. She went to Nolan too.

Then we proceeded to get way too tipsy...

Sunday was a lazy day... of course. I think we watched 10 hours of Dexter. Yeeeeeesh! But I can't complain. At least I was in good company :)

Great fun filled weekend ahead! Pictures soon to come. It really started last night though. My band played at Houston St. and I sang some good ones. Did a little Cranberries via their smash hit from the 90s. Zombie. Then rocked a little Lisa Loeb and Alanis Morrisette to keep with the theme. My voice hurts though. Too much raspy-ness...

Aaaaaand, i pretty much have the best boyfriend ever. Lacey, Nick and Lauren get to meet him on Saturday. Here are two pics from last night for a little sneak preview. Prepare yourselves ladies... he's hot.

I wish I knew how to write code..

I can't get my blog to look like what I want it to. Why? Why does it have to be so hard?

Anyhoo, I found out yesterday that I probably will not be going back to Montreal before I start my new gig with E-Z-GO. I am supposed to be starting a new distribution center basically from scratch and they want it up and running by October. Yeah... right. So I have to push forward my start date so I can get to work. I am sad I didn't get a proper goodbye with my Montrealers.

On another note, Christopher (my man) and I have been trying to catch up on all the seasons of Dexter before season 5 starts. Its a great undertaking. We have at least 21 episodes to go. But its worth it. If you are not into that show, you should be.

Callie, Meghan, Allison and I are busy planning for Lacey's bridal shower. It is going to be lovely. Does anyone know where I can find fresh pink hibiscus flowers for really cheap. I am going to candy them for the champange. Little trick I learned in Montreal.

First Post

I have shamlessly stolen this whole blogging idea from my friend Lacey. I hope you dont mind dear :) This is my first post. I have decided that as long as the technology to catalog my life (and easily allow friends to keep up to date) exists, I might as well take advantage of it.

My blog's name is part of a lyric from a Phoenix (my favorite band) song called Lasso. I chose it because I find that the song rather closely applies to the way I feel about previous years of my life and the "progress" made since then. There has been a lot of growth. A lot of changes. Some may even say I am doing quite well... not to say that I was ever doing terribly. The difference is now I strive to wear my real eyes.
